Galvanized steel structure solution for a seaside hall in Congo

The biggest challenge in building a steel structure hall by the sea is resisting corrosion from the high humidity and salt spray environment. Addressing the unique climatic conditions of the Congolese coast, Canglong Group provided a customized galvanized steel structure solution, employing comprehensive anti-corrosion treatment for all steel components to create a more durable and safer industrial building.

Located in the Congolese coastal region, this project utilized a galvanized steel structure design by Canglong Group to effectively enhance the building’s corrosion resistance in the marine environment. The overall project adopts a double-pitched roof portal frame structure, offering advantages such as structural stability, high space utilization, and rapid construction efficiency, suitable for industrial halls, warehouses, and production buildings.

The main structure uses H-shaped steel beams and columns as the primary load-bearing components, providing excellent load-bearing capacity and structural stability. The roof purlins utilize a C-shaped steel design to optimize structural weight and improve on-site installation efficiency.

To address the high salt and fog environment of the coastal area, all steel structural components of the project underwent galvanizing for corrosion protection, including:

• H-beams and columns;
• C-beam purlins;
• Tie rods;
• Tie rods;
• Inter-column bracing;
• Other connecting and auxiliary components.

This overall galvanizing process provides comprehensive protection for the steel structure, reducing the need for subsequent maintenance and extending the building’s lifespan.

Currently, the project is under construction on-site, with the main galvanized steel structure components being rapidly assembled according to the design plan.
