Panama Carport Workshop

This project was built for a client in Panama who needed a covered space for vehicle parking while keeping enough flexibility for storing maintenance equipment and carrying out light workshop activities.

The building measures 50 m × 20 m × 6 m, providing approximately 1,000 m² of covered space. Instead of fully enclosing the building, the project uses a semi-open layout to give the client easier access to the parking and working areas while maintaining overhead protection.

A Semi-Open Layout for Parking and Workshop Use

The client did not need a completely enclosed workshop. The main requirement was to create a large covered area where vehicles could be parked while allowing space for maintenance equipment and other commercial activities.

The semi-open design provides a practical balance between protection and accessibility. Vehicles can enter and leave the covered area easily, while the roof protects the working and storage areas from direct sun and rain.

With a building length of 50 meters and a 10-meter column spacing arrangement, the structure provides a relatively open interior layout without unnecessarily dividing the usable space with closely spaced columns.

Simple Roof System for a Practical Carport

The project uses color-coated steel roofing sheets with a green finish. The roofing system provides the basic weather protection required for the carport while keeping the structure suitable for its intended commercial use.

For this type of building, the objective is not to create a fully enclosed industrial workshop. Instead, the structure provides a straightforward covered space that can be adapted for vehicle parking, equipment storage and light maintenance operations.
