Uzbekistan steel building begins installation

Project Positioning: This modern steel building project, developed by Canglong Group for its Uzbek client, offers a one-stop service encompassing design, supply, transportation, and construction. Deeply integrated with the climate and industrial needs of Central Asia, the project has completed preliminary preparations and officially entered the construction phase, becoming another model of Sino-Uzbek production capacity cooperation.

Project Overview

Located in the Syrdarya Region Industrial New Area of Uzbekistan, the project is positioned as a comprehensive steel building integrating warehousing and light processing. The overall design adopts a connected double-sloped roof layout, balancing space efficiency with adaptability to the local climate. The double-sloped design (12° gradient) effectively diverts concentrated rainfall under the continental climate of Central Asia while reducing the accumulation of windblown sand on the roof. The main building is divided into two functional areas by expansion joints and wind-resistant columns, with a total area of approximately 3200㎡, meeting the client’s core demand for flexible space.

Design Scheme

The Canglong Group design team, in collaboration with local engineering consultants in Uzbekistan, developed a specialized technical solution to address the project site’s characteristics of high summer temperatures (40℃+), severe winter temperatures (-15℃), and frequent sandstorms.

  • Structural Safety Enhancement: The beam-column system utilizes Q345B H-beams (section height 200-400mm). Finite element analysis was used to optimize node stress, ensuring stability under 8-level wind load (0.35kN/㎡) and 0.3g seismic acceleration. The column base employs a double-fixed system of pre-embedded anchors and shear keys to mitigate the risk of uneven foundation settlement.
  • Spatial Efficiency Improvement: A continuous purlin system is installed under the double-sloped roof, using 120mm×50mm×20mm C-beams (wall thickness 2.5mm), spaced 1.5m apart. This reduces the roof load and provides a load margin (≥0.5kN/㎡) for subsequent photovoltaic panel installation. A diagonal bracing truss is added to the gable wall to enhance overall lateral stiffness.
  • Operation-friendly design: Both the walls and roof use 75mm thick rock wool sandwich metal panels (outer layer 0.6mm galvanized steel sheet, inner layer 0.5mm printed steel sheet), with a thermal conductivity ≤0.04W/(m·K). Combined with double-glazed observation windows, this achieves 30% energy savings in winter and 25% heat insulation in summer. Adjustable ventilation louvers (2m spacing) are installed in the walls to balance indoor and outdoor air pressure and reduce dust intrusion.
Materials and Supply Chain

As the core of the one-stop solution, Canglong Group integrates its own production bases and global supply chain resources to ensure material performance and timely delivery.

Precise Steel Structure Kit Supply: All H-beams and C-beams are formed using CNC plasma cutting and automatic assembly machines. Welds are produced using submerged arc welding (99.5% pass rate for Level 1 flaw detection). The surface undergoes double protection: shot blasting (Sa2.5 grade), epoxy zinc-rich primer (80μm), and acrylic topcoat (60μm), adapting to the dry and dusty environment of Uzbekistan. Metal sandwich panels are manufactured according to GB/T 23932 standards, with a core layer density ≥120kg/m³ and a fire rating of B1.

Customized Booking and Transportation Solutions: Tailored to the characteristics of inland transportation in Central Asia, multimodal transport is employed, utilizing the China-Europe Railway Express and Uzbek truck transshipment. Steel components are packed according to the principle of heavier components not compressing lighter ones, and larger components not compressing smaller ones. Anti-slip rubber mats are laid inside 40HQ containers. Key components (such as high-strength bolts and purlins) are individually packaged and marked “Fragile, Do Not Compress.” Full GPS tracking is provided, with an estimated transportation period of 28 days. Customs clearance is completed within 48 hours of arrival in Tashkent.

Construction Commencement

The project has now entered the main construction phase, Canglong Group has dispatched a bilingual (Chinese/Russian) technical team to the site to work closely with the Ukrainian construction team.

  • Foundation Handover and Alignment: Independent foundation acceptance has been completed (axis deviation ≤5mm, elevation deviation ≤3mm). Column positioning has been verified using a total station to ensure the verticality of the H-beam steel columns is ≤H/1000 (H is the column height).
  • Main Structure Lifting Progresses Smoothly: A 25-ton truck crane is being used to lift the steel columns in sections. The installation and temporary fixing of the first span of 6 columns were completed on the same day. The plan is to complete the closure of the entire main structure within 45 days.
  • Dual Quality and Safety Control: A material inspection area has been established on-site. Quality certificates are checked for each batch of steel. Welding operations are subject to a “three-inspection system” (self-inspection, mutual inspection, and specialized inspection). 100% of personnel working at heights are equipped with fall arrestors and five-point safety harnesses.
Customer Value and Regional Significance

“Canglong’s solution not only solved our pain points in construction under windy, sandy, and temperature-varying environments, but also saved us the trouble of coordinating with multiple parties through its one-stop service. From drawing confirmation to the arrival of the first batch of components, it only took 42 days, far exceeding expectations!” said Aziz Rahimov, Project Manager for the Uzbekistan client.

Upon completion, this project will become the first steel building in Syrdarya Region to adopt Chinese standards and local adaptations, providing a replicable template for the upgrading of local agricultural processing and logistics warehousing industries. It also marks a new stage in Canglong Group’s service capabilities in the Central Asian market.

As a well-known steel structure construction supplier in China, Canglong Group has 20 years of industry experience and provides one-stop steel structure solutions from design to installation. We have a factory of 100000 square meters, and all our products have been certified by ISO and CE, and are sold to over 80 countries and regions worldwide.
